What NOT to Wear..to SL Weddings and Funerals
WOW, was all we could say!! WOW, and OMG eeked out. We were all at a posh location in SL, awaiting the arrival of a beloved friend who was getting married. Her groom-to-be was anxiously pacing the floor. Bridesmaids were texting her via IPhone. The Bride was unfortunately locked out of SL for her own party…or maybe that was FORTUNATELY…because all of a sudden..in plops a figure in White. A stunningly gorgeous woman in big pure white ballgown took the center of the dancefloor, and began to slow dance with her handsomely tuxedo-clad escort. The scene was romantic and appealling, except for one tiny fact..this was NOT the Bride!!
The guests began to frantically IM each other..who are these people? And perhaps maybe it is appropriate in certain countries to wear white to someone else’s engagement party? The general consensus was a big fat resounding NO, not in Europe or the States, or anywhere that we collectively knew of, it is ever considered polite or well-intentioned, as it takes away attention from the real star of her day, the Bride or Bride-to-be.
So, please Ladies, a few basic rules of ettiquette:
1. DO NOT WEAR WHITE TO WEDDINGS, unless you are the BRIDE
2. DO NOT WEAR RED TO FUNERALS, even if you are the CORPSE
Love you all, see you on the grid, hopefully properly attired for the occasion!! muahh
